Sean O’Brien is an illustrator and animator working out of a sunny studio in Brighton, UK.

Alongside an ongoing column with Cyclist Magazine, Sean has had the privilege of working with a wide arrange of clients,  a select list includes:

The Barbican, The Bright Press, Cyclist Magazine, Djøfbladet, Dog’s Trust, Ferment Magazine, Financial Times Weekend, The Guardian, iWeekend, Hire a Helper, Hachette Children’s, Monocle, and Rouleur.



Sean O’Brien is an illustrator and animator from the UK who likes exploring character-driven narratives throughout his work.

His core practice involves observational drawing, scribing, writing, and taking a pencil for a walk.

Sean uses traditional drawing-based methods alongside digital colouring to capture the fun and playful moments in everyday life.

He has worked with clients such as Ambit, Canvas8, Financial Times Weekend, IFLA, Tortoise Media, The Barbican, Cancer Research UK and, has co-directed two projects with Minute Books which were featured on It's Nice That and also in the Observer.
