Sean O’Brien is an illustrator and animator working out of a sunny studio in Brighton, UK. His illustration practice is defined by a love of traditional drawing and mark making and is applied to his work which covers a broad range of projects from: editorial, publishing, animation and advertising.

Hello! I am Sean O'Brien (He/Him) and I’m an Illustrator based in Brighton, UK. I work from a shared studio in the Phoenix Art Space and I am proudly represented by the Bright Agency.

You might have seen my work at the back of Cyclist Magazine for “Backmarkers”, or maybe in the “Good Question” section of Madison Magazine. If you didn’t that’s okay, here’s some more about me.
I’m a big fan of mark making and traditional drawing (can you tell from the picture?) and love to use humour, staging and a playful colour palette to visually communicate ideas through my illustration work.
I have a profound love of being outside, which is reflected in my work. I’ll make any excuse to draw loads of plants! Aside from that, I enjoy working on topics such as Science, Technology and Sports.
I’ve also co-directed two projects with Minute Books, which were featured on It's Nice That and also The Observer. Good job, Sean.
